CH2M HILL Polar Services (CPS) recruits qualified people to fill seasonal contract positions supporting scientific research at remote field camps in Greenland and Alaska. We offer full-summer and partial-summer season contracts at most sites. We are currently in the planning process for next year and are accepting applications, if you are interested in a position for next season please email a resume and cover letter to CPScontacts (cpscontacts at ch2m.com).
Greenland Summer Positions
CPS staffs two small camps in Greenland each summer. The season is considered to be mid-April to late August. Several full-summer and part-summer positions are available.
CPS requires prior experience working in polar regions/polar field camps OR a strong outdoor background working in cold climates/remote areas. Additionally, staff may be required to pass a National Science Foundation-mandated physical exam.
Although we hire some specific skill sets, all personnel we employ are expected to assist with any and all tasking as required to maintain the camp. The following types of positions are staffed for the summer season:
- Camp Managers
- Mechanics (Heavy/Facilities)
- Heavy Equipment Operators
- Cooks
- Science Technicians
- Field Coordinators
- Tradespeople (for short-term construction projects)
